Solidarity statement

Dear Grant Partners,
We wanted to take a moment to reach out and express our solidarity with all those working to support refugees, migrants and people seeking sanctuary across the UK.
Recent months have been marked by increasing political polarisation, anti-migrant rhetoric, and, in some places, acts of violence and intimidation directed at migrant and refugee communities. We know that these events do not happen in isolation. They affect the people and communities you work alongside every day. They create fear, uncertainty and harm, and can place additional pressure on organisations already working tirelessly to meet growing need.
At Justice Together, we want to be clear: we stand alongside those seeking safety, dignity and belonging. We reject attempts to blame entire communities for the actions of individuals, and we oppose all forms of racism, xenophobia, discrimination and violence.
We also recognise the challenges many of you are navigating. Whether providing advice and legal support, organising within communities, advocating for policy change, building solidarity across movements, or creating spaces of welcome and connection, your work has become increasingly important at a time when many people feel vulnerable and uncertain about their future.
Despite the challenges, we continue to see remarkable resilience, courage and leadership from the organisations and communities we have the privilege of supporting. We see people standing together across difference, defending one another’s humanity, and continuing to build communities rooted in care, justice and hope. These acts matter. They remind us that another story about our society is possible.
We also want you to know that our solidarity extends beyond words. Through the Taking Care of You programme, we have seen first-hand the value of creating spaces for healing, reflection and wellbeing. The Healing Spaces element of the programme has been deeply appreciated by those who have taken part, and should there be a need, we are open to exploring how these spaces might be offered again to support those affected by the current climate.
JTI grant partners are eligible for urgent small grants towards wellbeing and security through the Movement Solidarity Fund, run by Civic Power Fund and Migration Exchange.
